RESTORIDYN NAMED WINNER OF NUTRITION RESEARCH PROJECT AWARD

JULY 2020 — Verdure Sciences is proud to announce “Restoridyn®, a synergistic sports nutrition blend of polyphenols” has received recognition as the 2020 Nutrition Research Project recipient during the recent NutraIngredient-USA Awards’ virtual event. The Nutrition Research Project category rewards the most innovative and impactful nutrition research projects pushing the boundaries of nutritional science, explains the NutraIngredients-USA Awards website.

“We are honored to receive the recognition and accolades on behalf of our research endeavors associated with Restoridyn. We are delighted that Restoridyn’s ability to promote adaptogenic support can be used in a tangible application; to get this kind of recognition is extremely rewarding for everyone involved. We would like to give special recognition to Dr. Brian McFarlin and his UNT team for their expertise and willingness to take on this complicated research project,” said Sonya Cropper, VP of Marketing and Innovation at Verdure Sciences.NI Awards USA 20 logo Winner

Restoridyn’s research aims to promote the efficacy of a comprehensive exercise training program for all ages and athletic abilities in support of health and wellbeing to all populations. Running is a popular activity/habit for exercise training because it requires very little cost-investment compared to other sports, but it can create soreness and inflammation that can make subsequent exercise more complicated. In an effort to combat this, a comprehensive run-training-plan that considers exercise strategy, hydration, recovery, stretching, and nutritional habits may make regular exercise more appealing to the masses. However, of these components, the science of nutritional habits and ingredient supplementation is still emerging. Thus, the identification of dietary ingredients that can be consumed habitually to support exercise recovery is of great need. Improving recovery will also make running more desirable for a larger segment of the population. This innovative research initiative has focused on the use of a novel blend of curcuminoids and pomegranate ellagitannins in recreational runners of various ages and abilities in over a dozen clinical publications. The researchers worked diligently to develop a model that emphasizes structure/function outcomes combined with real-world applications. Further, the research provides additional substantiation into flexible dosing opportunities for Restoridyn® that can be personalized according to the amount of effort in a given exercise session and tailored to fit personalized needs.

Nutra Ingredients Awards USA 2020 - Restoridyn“This entry really stood out to the judges for its focus on the use of a novel blend of curcuminoids and pomegranate ellagitannins in recreational runners of various ages and abilities with particular focus on a model that emphasizes structure/function outcomes combined with real-world applications,” commented representatives for NutraIngredients-USA.

“Our judges considered this to be an exciting and well-structured project that offered compelling evidence to support their research.  Congratulations to Verdure Sciences for winning this Nutrition Research Project category for the second year in a row. It really highlights Verdure’s commitment to science and quality,” added Stephen Daniells, PhD, Editor-in-Chief of NutraIngreident-USA.

Verdure extends humble gratitude and recognition to the dedicated team of researchers at the University of North Texas, and in particular to Dr. Brian McFarlin, for their immense effort, due diligence, and exceptional work into the novel applications and wealth of complex data for this project. We would also like to extend our congratulations to all of the award recipients and nominees for their innovation, passion, and commitment to the betterment of the nutritional supplement industry. †
